Michelin Guide Expands Its Restaurant Ratings to Cover All of Türkiye
The world-famous Michelin Guide has announced the date for revealing its 2027 Türkiye selection. The ceremony will take place on December 3, 2026, at the Divan Kuruçeşme Hotel in Istanbul.
The guide said that, in an unprecedented move, its restaurant ratings will cover all parts of Türkiye for the first time, after years of focusing mainly on selected tourist destinations.
During the ceremony, the guide will announce the restaurants joining the new nationwide selection, recognize chefs who have earned Michelin Stars, and present special awards to outstanding talents and professionals in the hospitality and culinary industries.
Michelin uses five international criteria to rate restaurants. These include the quality of ingredients, cooking techniques, the balance of flavors, the chef’s personality as reflected in their dishes, and the consistency of food quality across the menu and over time. Michelin inspectors carry out their reviews independently and anonymously.
The Michelin Guide is not just about restaurants. It also features a selection of outstanding hotels and awards Michelin Keys to hotels that offer exceptional stays through their design, service, and unique character.
The full list of selected restaurants for 2027 will be published shortly after the ceremony on the Michelin Guide’s official website and mobile app. This will allow travelers to discover new destinations and include them in their travel plans across Türkiye.
The Michelin Guide first arrived in Türkiye in 2022, starting with Istanbul. It later expanded to İzmir, Muğla, and Cappadocia. The latest expansion will now cover restaurants across the entire country, giving Turkish cuisine an even stronger presence on the global tourism map.
