Antalya Governor: "This year is gonna be a record-breaking year for tourism"

Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin said the 2025 tourism season has gotten off to a great start, adding that this year is going to be all about breaking records.

Speaking to the press in front of Hadrian’s Gate in the historic Kaleiçi area during Tourism Week, he said that Antalya is a city where tourism happens all year round.

He mentioned that everything’s ready in case transportation gets crowded, especially with Antalya Airport expanding its capacity. "The new terminals at Antalya Airport are something we’re really proud of," he said.

The governor explained that the start of the 2025 tourism season looks very promising, with excellent signs so far. He also pointed out that last year already set a bunch of records, and they’re expecting to break even more this year.

He added: “Our tourism infrastructure is stronger than ever, and we’re working closely with all the key players in the industry.”

He stressed that they’re aiming to run a solid, well-organized tourism season without compromising on the huge tourism revenue.

“There are 2,500 tourist facilities and 650,000 beds in Antalya. Inspections are carried out based on a scheduled plan,” he said.

Şahin also mentioned they want to attract more tourists to the city center and are currently working on getting several areas, especially Kaleiçi, added to the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage list.
