The Türkiye government has announced a ban on heavy vehicles, such as "trucks, tractors, and tankers," in six provinces, including İstanbul, due to bad weather conditions.
The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure stated that the ban includes highways D-100 and D-750, as well as the TEM and Northern Marmara roads, in the provinces of İstanbul, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Düzce, Bolu, and Ankara.
The ministry clarified that the ban will remain in effect until 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 23.
The decision aims to prevent accidents and traffic problems on roads that are congested due to snow and harsh weather conditions.
An orange warning (dangerous) has been issued for the provinces of Kocaeli, Sakarya, and Düzce, while a yellow warning (less dangerous) has been issued for İstanbul, Bolu, and Karabük.
