
Shawarma sandwich saves the life of a Turkish young man from suicide
A Turkish young man called "Hassan" retreated from suicide after the Manafjat police in Antalya, offered him a shawarma sandwich.
Hassan, 33, had tried to set fire to himself while standing on the roof of a five -storey building.
"Hassan" appeared over the building carrying a knife, a tie and a plastic bottle filled with gasoline, which caused a state of panic among passers -by.
The police arrived at the scene, and began negotiating with him to try to discourage him from his decision, as he told them that he was hungry, which prompted one of the officers to present the shawarma sandwich to him. Once he got food, he retracted suicide.
Turkish media said that "Hassan" was famous for his repeated attempts to commit suicide throughout the country, which made him enjoy the title of "suicide traveler."
Despite the many attempts to save him and provide psychological support to him, he continues his tragic endeavors.
