A 4.5 Richter earthquake strikes Antalya

A 4.5 -Richter earthquake took place off the coast of the Alaania region of the Turkish state of Antalya.

A statement published on the website of the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Department (AFAD) said that an earthquake measuring 4.5 in the Gulf of Antalya was recorded at 16:51 Türkiye time.

According to the initial information issued by disaster management, the seismic depth was 7 km.

The earthquake came at a sensitive time for the Mediterranean region, which is witnessing a continuous seismic activity, as experts seek to monitor any possible consequences.
