
Erdogan announces the registration of Turkish exports a record in 2024
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkish exports set a record in 2024 by 262 billion dollars.
This came during an event held in Istanbul, about the volume of exports during the year 2024, in which Erdogan confirmed that the Turkish economy has been growing over 17 quarter without interruption.
The Turkish president explained that the economy grew by 2.1% in the third quarter of the year 2024, expressing his expectation that the per capita income in the country exceeded $ 17,000 in 2025.
He pointed out that the unemployment rate during the period between January and October in 2024 was 8.8% and is considered the lowest percentage in the last 23 years.
He stressed that the 2024 inflation data announced by the Turkish Statistics Authority confirms the correctness of the applicable policies.
He added: "We destroyed a record in the history of the Republic with exports throughout the year (2024), as it increased by 2.5 percent compared to the year 2023 and reached 262 billion dollars."
He confirmed the decrease in the external trade deficit in 2024 by 24 billion dollars, down from 106.3 billion dollars in 2023 to 82.2 billion dollars in 2024.
The Turkish Statistics Authority announced last week, the inflation rate in December 2024 decreased to 44.38% on an annual basis.
