Istanbul Announces Adjusted School Hours on New Year's Eve
The Governor of Istanbul announced an adjustment to school hours in the city on New Year's Eve, with classes in all educational institutions ending by 16:00.
In a statement on Monday, Governor Davut Gul explained that this decision was made due to expected traffic congestion and security measures to be implemented on December 31st.
The statement noted that due to the anticipated traffic density and security measures in Istanbul on Tuesday, December 31st, all schools, including pre-school, primary, and secondary education institutions (both public and private), would be closed.
The statement also emphasized the need to complete educational activities before 16:00.
It is worth mentioning that Istanbul is one of the most popular destinations for New Year's celebrations, hosting numerous events and festivals catering to all tastes.
Visitors and locals can enjoy celebrations in the famous Taksim Square, where concerts and impressive light shows attract thousands of revelers.
