Turkey Launches Remote Work Visa Program

The Tourism Promotion and Development Agency, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Turkey, issued a statement announcing its readiness to launch a remote work visa program.

Turkey, with its strong technological infrastructure, easily accessible location, advanced digital payment and banking systems, has become a popular destination for remote workers in recent years.

Through mobile digital work, visitors can extend their stay in Turkey and enjoy the unique beauty of the country while benefiting from high-speed internet and cellular connectivity in its major cities.

According to the agency, remote workers can now apply for entry visas to Turkey easily through the Digital Nomad GoTürkiye platform under the program of the Tourism Promotion and Development Agency affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey.

After completing the requirements on this platform, which is the first step of the process, remote workers will receive a "Digital Nomad Identity Certificate," from which they can complete the procedures at Turkish consulates and/or visa centers.

Eligible Countries for Visa:

Turkey offers the mobile work visa for citizens of France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Ireland, Denmark, Greece, Croatia, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Finland, Sweden, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovenia, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Malta, Bulgaria, and Romania.

As well as countries such as Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, the United States, Canada, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, and Belarus, aged between 21 and 55 years.

Steps to Obtain the Visa:

To obtain the Digital Nomad Identity Certificate, the following documents must be uploaded after registering on the platform:

- A valid passport/travel document valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival in Turkey.
- Higher education certificate or alternative diploma document proving that the applicant works remotely digitally, which can be a contract if they work for a company (except companies in Turkey) or a work contract between the applicant and the company if they work on their own behalf (except companies in Turkey).
- Biometric photo
- Document proving that the applicant has a monthly income of $3000 or an annual income of $36,000.
